Bengaluru (Formerly Bangalore)
Bangalore officially became Bengaluru on 1st Nov 2014. Bengaluru is the capital city of Karnataka and the fastest growing city in India.
The city is most famously known as the “Garden City” because of the two major parks “Jayachamarajendra Park also known as Cubbon Park” and the “Lalbagh Botanical Gardens”, and of course due to the presence of large number of greeneries.
Bengaluru is also known as “Silicon Valley” due to the presence of numerous Information Technology companies. Popularly known as the IT Capital, Bengaluru is home to some major IT companies like Infosys and Wipro which have a head quarters here.

Tourist attractions in Bangalore
The tourist centers such as historical and architectural sights are scattered widely within the limits of the city.
Vidhana SoudhaThe magnificent Vidhana Soudha is a primary attraction in Bangalore. This architectural beauty is located at the heart of the city and surrounds many other attractions. The then Chief Minister of Karnataka K Hanumanthaiah was instrumental in the construction of this marvel. Vidhana Soudha is situated at the northern edge of Cubbon Park.
Cubbon Park (Chamarajendra Park)
The three hundred acres Cubbon Park (now Chamarajendra Park) at the heart of Bangalore city was laid by Sir Richard Sankey in 1864 and named after Sir Mark Cubbon. The Bal Bhavan Society and Jawahar Bal Bhavan in Cubbon Park offer recreational activities for children.
Government MuseumThe Government Museum is situated next the Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum. This museum was established in 1886 and is one of the oldest museums in India. This museum showcases items from Vijayanagar period, relics from Mohenjo-daro era and pre-historic artifacts.
Lalbagh Botanical Gardens
The Lalbagh Botanical Garden was commissioned by Hyder Ali in 1760 and completed by his son Tipu Sultan. The 240 acre botanical garden is located in South Bengaluru. Lalbagh attracts large number of tourists during the annual flower shows conducted during Indian Independence Day & Republic Day.

Attara Kacheri (Karnataka High Court)
The Attara Kacheri (means eighteen offices) is located just opposite to Vidhana Soudha. This imposing Victorian gothic style building was built in 1867. The Karnataka High Court functions out of this building. This heritage monument is a symbol of Bangalore’s colonial heritage.
Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum
The Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum is more of interactive science exhibition than just a museum. The museum is located in Kasturba road, not very far away from Vidhana Soudha and Karnataka High Court. In fact, you can take a walk from the Bal Bhavan Society in Cubbon Park.
Venkatappa Art Gallery
The Venkatappa Art Gallery is situated next to the Government Museum. This art gallery showcases beautiful paintings of Venkatappa, an artist of international repute who was the court painter to the Maharaja of Mysore in the early 20th century.
Bangalore FortThe Bangalore Fort dates back to 1537, which was built as mud fort by Kempe Gowda I, the founder of modern Bengaluru. Hyder Ali converted the mud fort into stone fort during 1761. Today only the part of the fort known as Delhi Gate remains.
